I've been coming here for years. Always satisfied. I love their EggsBenedict and their omelettes. Nobody makes a better Hanni either. I think the bad reviews on here are just haters or jealous because their food is the best Coney food, within a 10 mile radius easily!!
Honestly I love this place. The staff are super comforting kinda reminds me of going to grandmas house, they really do care about you there I cant even lie. 6/5 they deserve an extra star. Also the vegetarian omelette is gas.
EVERY TIME I come home! EVERY TIME! This place has the BEST food! I grew up on the Eastside and visited this place often. My Mother has moved further West but my tastebuds live on the Eastside! Wish I could freeze it and take it on the road with me because I'm not able to visit the "D" like I use too.
Revisiting the old neighborhood I grew up in, I can't help but to make a trip to Hollywood Coney Island. Neither the building or location are visually pleasing, but you can't judge a book by its cover. Ever since my childhood, I've enjoyed what this place has to offer. Prior to leaving the old neighborhood, I had to make a stop and as usual, I've enjoyed my meal. I got their signature burger, which is accurately named the Hollywood Burger. It's accurately named that way because it truly is the star. I know most people go to Coney Island restaurants for Coney Dogs (overrated in my opinion) and Chili Cheese Fries. Trust me, the Hollywood Burger will make you second guess getting anything else. A nice sized sesame seed bun layered with a quarter pound of beef, melted cheddar and swiss, onions, tomatoes, light lettuce, mayo, and last but not least...three slices of corned beef. I've had burgers like this before, one was down the road at the famous Food Exchange restaurant, the other I've had some bars near my university. Most of them are the same, but still very unique. Despite the fact that anything could fall off the burger, it didn't keep me from enjoying at all. It's all going to one place, right? The mean was very tender and juicy and all of the other toppings complimented it well. It can do you wonders, especially if you plan on sleeping the rest of your evening. Burger aside, my fries were okay. They were hot, but a little too much salt was put on them. However, it wasn't what I came for. I got my burger and I enjoyed every bite. As mentioned before, the place itself isn't the most visually pleasing. It sits at Gratiot Ave. on the Eastside of Detroit. However, of all of my years going there, the staff were always very cool and they don't take any crap from unruly customers. I appreciate that because at the end of the day, they're trying to run a business. I love Hollywood.
The wing dings are seasoned perfectly! My favorite place for the wing dings and chill cheese fries.
